Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison Has Racing In His Blood
During a Pawn Stars episode recently, Rick Harrison was considering a purchase of a dragster. For a change, he was not behind the desk trying to pawn gold or jewelry from a customer. No, he was out in the field on this one; refreshing change of pace in the show. At any rate, the seller of the dragster was all enamored with the whole television environment and seemed to be convinced that good old Rick was his new bud and would by the speedster.
It was a real surprise when Rick decided to jump in and take it for a test drive; makes sense, right? The decision was a smart move since there could be anything wrong with it not detectable unless it was driven.
Well, Rick seems to have some real racing blood running, or should I say, speeding through his veins. When sitting at the starting line waiting for the lights to go from red to green, he really got into character. Sweat beading down his forehead, an intense look on his face, and a tight, no, a very tight grip on the steering wheel were all obvious just watching the screen.
The light hits green and suddenly the tires start spinning and smoking, just like you see when professionals are slicking up their tires. The wheels grabbed the surface and he shot out of their like the Navy’s F-15 fighter jets at take-off on an aircraft carrier; literally a slingshot effect.
Rick Harrison admitted that he now knew how Navy fighter pilots feel at take-off.
It is a shame that there was no camera shot of his eyes when that bad boy took off. Rick admitted he was a little scared, but that the car steered good and got him to the finish. It appeared that the car would be worth the $30,000 being asked.
Whoa! Stop the presses! Rick could have knocked the owner over with a feather when the price offered was a mere $11,000; a small $6,000 for the dragster and $5,000 for the trailer. You could see the huge disappointment on the owner’s face; he went completely pale.
“That would be giving it away.” remarked the owner when later he was interviewed, but accepted the fact and was ready to move on. Rick was really on target with this when he later described just how poor of a shape the vehicle was in; bad engine, out-dated front-end, and vital systems needing an overhaul. Got to hand it to Mr. Harrison, he really does know what he is talking about.

He arranges a private and very romantic date to set the mood and create a mindset that will lock the moment in time. Whether it is a beautiful country-side filled with her favorite wildflowers and scenery or an evening of dinner and romantic walks along the beach, the setting will be a huge part of accomplishing a memorable moment. Of the two, it is easy to see which has a likelihood of providing a breathtaking experience that will be cherished for the rest of her life.
It is not always possible for some men to provide the expensive ring set or most pleasurable surroundings. If this happens to be the case, as it was in my situation, it is the amount of deep and profound love that is already felt between the two of you that can make up the difference. Fortunately for me, my wife of over 25 years saw that I truly and deeply loved her and was sincere when I proposed. Love is never wasted when there are true and genuine feelings so deep they can not be diminished or swayed by that which is based upon material objects; indeed, this is unconditional love.

Betsy Bovine – A New Cajun Pawn Star?
How far would you go to pawn something you think is valuable, or at least of some value? What would you pawn if you owned animals instead of gold or valuable jewelry? Now there is a new series called “Cajun Pawn Stars” that just might fill your hankering for some real crazy pawn shop action. The series just began on January 8th and is claimed to be a huge hit. Donkeys, cows, and who knows what else will appear on this show. But, how far is too far when it comes to reality shows?
Cows are not the first choice when thinking of pawning your valuables, or are they?
There is probably someone out there who just might think that it is perfectly alright to throw a rope on old Betsy and haul her prime cuts down to the local pawn shop. Cajun Pawn Stars Could Be New Hit
Now, there is a point at which something original does not need a sequal or spin-off. Case in point, the hit reality show, Pawn Stars, is indeed a hit. The amount of attention Corey, Chumlee, and the crew receive has grown substantially since its debut. Being in its fourth season, there appears to be more of the same and less of Corey; he lost 115 pounds. At any rate, the whole notion that another pawn reality TV show is necessary or will be popular is a stretch at best. Move the concept to a part of the country where community spirit about being Cajun is strong and proud, then kick it a few times in the teeth and you get the Cajun Pawn Stars.
I say “…kick it in the teeth…” because the folks have apparently not entirely welcomed this show to their neighborhood, and yet, they are going to get this nation-wide coverage anyway, like it or not. Some comments on the Internet are not even close to being favorable. It makes you wonder what the producers, creators, and so on, were thinking and who they did not bother to speak with to get a feel for the cultural response to their idea. Of course, all of this is opinion that opposes the new series.
On a lighter side, the show is promoting a little twist to shake up the usual pawning aspect of the show. For example, instead of seeing a lot of people sell gold, jewelry, or their fancy watches, you are likely to see a bovine beast traipse across the floor or a donkey grace the television set. Yes, this will be entertaining to some. Let’s agree to give this series a chance and see just how much it makes you laugh and smile. Who knows? It could be a huge hit and become a pleasant surprise.

Corey Harrison Loses A Lot And Wins Even More
Weight loss programs has been a lucrative business for at least 30 years or so. Back in the early 1980’s, there began to be a fever for exercise, weight management products and programs, and aerobics. All of this took off and some very in-tune entrepreneurs cashed in big time. As time progressed, the industry went through the digital age and awakened to a whole new approach of shedding the pounds. The medical doctors who began investing a lot of time and educational in-service energy in this field of study would become astoundingly successful. Timing of this science is interesting to say the least. With the onset of popular video games, fast food availability, and processed foods, obesity became an epidemic, literally, affecting adults and children alike. While I have not heard of a Lap Band surgery being performed on anyone younger than 18 years of age, it has turned out to be one of the most popular forms of weight loss surgery across the country.
Not only does the general public now have access, the cost has dramatically decreased allowing for more and more insurance companies to be more apt to approve the procedure. It is still a very successful way to shed some unwanted weight and is even used by those considered to be stars or popular actors. Recently, in fact, Corey Harrison of the new hit show Pawn Stars has taken the initiative to change his habits and take better care of his health losing 115 pounds; great job Corey!
Part of the process for improving his health included a Lap Band surgery in an attempt to get off of medications, avoid becoming a diabetic, and eliminate the pain in his hips and legs. To sell jewelry, gold, and other luxury items, it takes energy and focus when working with customers. The whole work day, according to Corey, is so much easier. Perhaps, this is something that will inspire others to consider a similar path for becoming healthier for the new year.
