Pawn Stars Mixin’ It Up With iCarly Stars
Without speculating or assuming about the fans who routinely watch Pawn Stars and their taste in cable TV shows, I think it would be safe to assume that many of you have kids that watch iCarly, a Nickelodeon sitcom. The reason for bringing this up is that the most unanticipated and unexpected move has been announced; and you won’t believe it.
Later in 2012, yours truly, the boys from Pawn Stars – Rick Harrison, Corey Harrison and Chumlee (Austin Russell) – have a guest spot on an episode of iCarly; unbelievable. These pawn shop celebrities in their own right have really crossed some influential paths just by being who they are in their own cable hit series. As unlikely as it may seem, the stars of iCarly will be hosting these guys as part of a story line that takes Sam and Carly on a road trip to the star-studded gambling capitol of the world, Las Vegas.
As it has been released, the need for some serious cash, quick, Sam and Carly stumble upon the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, aka Pawn Stars store, trying to pawn some stuff. From here, only your imagination can guess what will actually happen. Rest assured, any ideas that Chumlee will be any different should be tossed out the window. He needs to be himself, that’s what works in Pawn Stars, and it will work with iCarly as well. Perhaps, some serious teasing and taunting by Rick and Corey can yield some Three Stooges comedy to really add some humor to the set.
How ever it goes, it is a sure bet that the cast and crew of two very popular series will have a great time together. What else could anyone expect? When the worlds of Pawn Stars and iCarly collide, all bets are off, even in Las Vegas, on what comedy will ensue. In fact, I wonder if they have considered the combination of Spencer (the incredibly funny character from iCarly) and Chumlee experiencing a hillarious interchange would turn out? Well, I guess we will have to just tune in to find out.

As promised, we are going to go down the road with some interesting tidbits on some characters from pawn shop reality TV shows. Before getting their big break on Pawn Stars, Chumlee, aka Austin Russell, was quite the avid pawn shop regular. Considered to be like a son to Rick Harrison, Chumlee had spent a lot of his boyhood time with friend Corey Harrison. I say if they find that appeal factor to draw in larger numbers and a different demographic, absolutely fantastic! Why, you may ask? Cajun Pawn Stars Could Be New Hit
Now, there is a point at which something original does not need a sequal or spin-off. Case in point, the hit reality show, Pawn Stars, is indeed a hit. The amount of attention Corey, Chumlee, and the crew receive has grown substantially since its debut. Being in its fourth season, there appears to be more of the same and less of Corey; he lost 115 pounds. At any rate, the whole notion that another pawn reality TV show is necessary or will be popular is a stretch at best. Move the concept to a part of the country where community spirit about being Cajun is strong and proud, then kick it a few times in the teeth and you get the Cajun Pawn Stars.
I say “…kick it in the teeth…” because the folks have apparently not entirely welcomed this show to their neighborhood, and yet, they are going to get this nation-wide coverage anyway, like it or not. Some comments on the Internet are not even close to being favorable. It makes you wonder what the producers, creators, and so on, were thinking and who they did not bother to speak with to get a feel for the cultural response to their idea. Of course, all of this is opinion that opposes the new series.
On a lighter side, the show is promoting a little twist to shake up the usual pawning aspect of the show. For example, instead of seeing a lot of people sell gold, jewelry, or their fancy watches, you are likely to see a bovine beast traipse across the floor or a donkey grace the television set. Yes, this will be entertaining to some. Let’s agree to give this series a chance and see just how much it makes you laugh and smile. Who knows? It could be a huge hit and become a pleasant surprise.

Chumlee Antics or Reality?
Chumlee is everywhere!
How would you like to own anything you could possibly want? This is certainly a dream of many, but rarely is it ever realized; unless, of course, you are Chumlee of the hit television cable show Pawn Stars. He has become something of an icon, and has done so in very quick fashion. What has contributed to his success, at least in part, is his ability to maintain a straight face while doing and saying some really quirky stuff.
Why does he act this way? Is this really who he is or is it some facade to get the ratings? Only Chumlee can answer these questions. Frankly, to many of his followers, this does not matter. He is one well-liked fella that has a lot of money because of his ability to be himself; at least that is the way it appears. It does not appear he made all that money selling gold or jewelry.
If you had one question that could be asked of our friend, what would that one interesting question be? Here is a fascinating thought; imagine all of the ideas that come to mind when contemplating this concept.
How about this question, “Chumlee, how do you really feel about the other guys on Pawn Stars?” That could be a real fire storm. Not to create a problem for anyone on the show, but you have to wonder if they really are that mean to Chumlee all of the time. Of course, to them it may not come across as being mean; it may be the best way to deal with Chumlee’s personality. Everyone has their own way of coping with others who really rub them the wrong way. It just so happens that the entire nation and people across the world get to see how Rick and the others cope…or don’t cope with Chumlee’s antics.

How About The Chumlee Phenomenom
Famous, fun-loving, and most definitely care-free describes the admired Chumlee.
If you listen carefully, you might be able to hear the cheers coming from the fans of Pawn Stars. Yep, there it is. They are chanting, “Chumlee, Chumlee, Chumlee” and it seems to be getting louder. Okay, so you can’t really hear the cheers over the Internet or on the cable show, but if you pay any attention at all to what is showing up on the web, Chumlee is getting a lot of attention. By all accounts, he has become the most popular character on the television show, Pawn Stars. This is a show about a pawn shop in Las Vegas where a family spends most of their time fussing and cussing about something that…you guessed it, something that Chumlee did or said.
Chumlee is by far the most popular "star" on Pawn Stars.
Give the guy a break! Sure he brings the teasing and harassment upon himself, for the most part; and, yes he definitely contributes to his own delinquency; and, of course, he is always looking out for his best interest. But, does that mean he should be tormented and taunted beyond belief? Now that I think about it, yes, he probably deserves everything he gets. Nonetheless, all of this attention has brought him some pretty serious fame and fortune. When the guy goes out to buy a Maserati, this should send a clear message that money is certainly flowing in, and it is doing so in large quantities apparently.
No matter how you may feel about good old Chumlee, he also deserves some credit here. He has shirts with his caricature on it, other items mass-produced that are all about him and his role on Pawn Stars. His namesake alone is probably worth millions right now. In fact, it would not surprise many of us if he does not turn out to be the most successful of the entire clan; now there is irony for you. With all due respect, and Chumlee is due a little bit, at some point this whole series and concept will grow old. When that time will be is anyone’s guess. For many fans, they surely hope that it is not in the near future. As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.” Does that mean that all bad things never end? Oh well, that is way too deep for now.
